Bautismo de Andrés

Hi Ya'll,

I was transferred last week to Inglewood!  My new companion is Hermana Millet.  She is from Arizona and she served in the Ecuador mission before being reassigned to L.A.  It's beautiful here!  We live like five minutes from the beach! It's a dream come true. The ward here is amazing and our friends we teach are fantastic.  We have three of the cutest roommates (English speaking):  One from Fuji, one from Russia and the other from Colorado. haha  They are so sweet.

We continue to do most of our teaching through technology.  However, we are able to teach in person (wearing a mask and six feet apart) outside the investigator's home, if they request it.

We had a baptism Saturday. His name is Andrés and he's amazing. He has such a strong testimony. With all the craziness of corona, we had to do the baptism in a swimming pool. The spirit was so strong. It was super cool to see how happy he was after.

We received a referral from sister missionaries in Mexico and she's awesome. Her name is Renia and she really wants to be baptized.  We set a date for the 22 of August! These people are amazing and have a love for Christ. Some of these people go through so much and they don't think it's possible to change, but y'all... anything is possible through Christ!!! I know it's true and I'm so grateful that we have the chance to change! Yuh

All is well!
Love y'all
Stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Bautismo de Gloria, Junior, y Marvin

Hi Y'all,

Yay! Gloria, Junior, and Marvin all got baptized last week! We had to keep social distancing and to wear a mask and a face shield, of course, but it was so cool. I even got to see Hermanita  Ramírez!!!! After the baptism, Junior bore his testimony and (this part was my favorite) he said: "The water was cold so I was pretty cold, but when I came out of the water and the men put their hands on my head all that coldness went away." The Holy Ghost y'all!!! It was super spiritual. This is the reason why I love being a missionary, you help people come closer to God and Jesus Christ and you can see the light growing every time you see them. They all looked so happy at their baptism. Even if they never say my name right (Hermana Weeeeenie, Hermana Weani, or Hermana Wanee) haha, they will always have a special place in my heart. Yuh

Other than that, Hermana Fernández and I have been working hard and having a good time. The people in this area are awesome and so are the members! Oscar is super excited for his baptism, but he wants to be the most prepared. haha So we've been teaching him a lot.

We received some blue light glasses from Elder Diede because our heads hurt from looking at screens all the time haha, but we love it! We also got our AC fixed.  Before it was fixed, it was only 85° in our apartment... even at night. We love the summer in the Valley! But we are always grateful!

I hope all is well with you! Love y'all! Stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig
