Transfer 5

Hi Y'all,

Okayyy, so our president said that we could drive to the temple and take a walk if we wanted to get out of our apartment.  So of course, we drove to the temple.  When we got there, the security guard said we couldn't come in and that President was mistaken. So we parked out side of the temple grounds and walked outside the gates haha.  When we were way on the other side of the temple grounds, President called us and asked what happened, and when we told him, he was like "Okay, come around back and all let you in, I'll wait for you guys".  We started running to meet him because we didn't want to keep him waiting, and keep in mind it's super hot right now in California and we are running our little hearts out in dresses and sandals. When we finally got to President, he took us to the mission house where his wife had fruit, crackers and water for us. We were literally dripping in sweat when we got there. But they just talked to us for a little bit to see how we were doing (of course, keeping social distancing) and then we had to leave to get back because we had a lesson. President Cordón y Hermanita Cordón are literally the best. They take great care of all of us. Feeling super grateful.

Gloria, Junior, Marvin and Isabella are doing great. They are my favorite people to teach. Isabella and Marvin always fight over who gets to say the prayers. They are the best people and I'm so grateful to be able to teach them<3

We also had a talent show as a zone via zoom and we went full out for it. It was super fun. I love my zone!

It's the beginning of my 5th transfer! And I'm staying in my area with the best companion ever! Hermanita Ramírez!!!!!!!! I'm super excited. She tried her first pop tart and her first hi-chew. Her dream is coming true -- she's becoming a gringa. Jaja

Love y'all, stay safe

Camping in L.A.

Hi Y'all,

This week was good! Another week of serving the Lord! We set a baptismal date with our friend Owen. Which was pretty cool, because we've been working with him since my first transfer and we have been able to really see his progress. So grateful to be able to teach these people!

Also, one night this past week, Hermana Ramírez and I slept on our mattresses out on our balcony. It's the closest thing we get to camping.

All is well! God loves y'all and I love y'all
Stay safe y healthy ;)

Gloria, Junior & Marvin

Hi Y'all,

Just living the quarantine life here in L.A.  The mayor has extended the quarantine through May 15. :(  Hope you all are well.

We continue to find and teach online.  Great news!  Gloria, Junior and Marvin are all getting baptized!!!! We set a date with them on Tuesday. They will be baptized in May, after Marvin turns eight.  They are possibly the cutest family.  Isabelle said "I wanna be baptized, I just turned six. Can I?!" Possibly the cutest little girl. It's been super cool seeing their progress and how much they have grown. I love them and I'm so excited for them.

All is well :) Love y'all, stay safe.

Conferencia General

Hi Y'all,

If you didn't get a chance to watch General Conference, you should because it was amazing! One of my favorite talks was from Bonnie M. Cordon.  She talked about how we need to share our light with others so they can find their way to Christ. During this time, there are a lot of people who need a message of hope.  All of you have a light, you may not think you do, but you do. So this week you should try and share that light with someone. Obviously with the coronavirus situation, we can't go out and physically serve people, but that's why God gave us the internet!!! Yuh So this week, help others through social media or just by calling or texting them.

For p-day, President Cordon asked all the missionaries in our mission to buy a four-week supply of groceries.  He also asked us not to go into stores after today, until the peak of the virus has passed (possibly the end of April).  We will continue to find people online to share the gospel with and continue to teach lessons online.

I'm doing great here and feel super blessed to be serving during this crazy time. Sister Westcott and I are getting pretty creative with the game "what are the odds" in our apartment. All is well here in LA.

Love you all! Stay safe and healthy :)

Social Distancing

Since we can't leave our apartment without a protective mask,
we bought some masks from a peddler on the street
