Give Thanks Y'all

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful day full of yummy food

The transfer ended so I had to say goodbye to my amazing companion, Hermana Payne.  I will miss her so much. She finished her mission and went home to sweet Texas! For our last day, we went up to this look out and watched the sunset and ate cereal and played the ukulele. Love you Hermana Payne!!!!!!

I'm training!!! My trainee is so cute! Her name is Hermanita Medina! She is amazing! I'm super excited for this transfer. Our first day, we delivered a bunch of turkeys. It was super fun!  For Thanksgiving, the mission provided a turkey for each cluster in the zones.  We fixed and ate dinner with the sisters in our cluster! My assignment for the dinner was homemade rolls.  My first experience and they turned out good.

All is well.  Love y'all!  have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Stay safe!

Tiempos Divertidos

 Hello Everyone!

I love this area and I love my companion, Hermanita Payne. We celebrated her 21 birthday this past week! šŸŽ‰
These last few weeks have flown by!  A lot of things have happened. First off, I know I have become a full Cali girl when it gets below 60° and our heater doesn't work and I have to wear three layers of clothes and turn on the oven to warm the house up. Also, our zone leader got his foot ran over by a car... kinda crazy, he's all good now. Halloween happened and that was a good time. We delivered lots and lots of pumpkin cookies. hehe

We have seen so many miracles! Our zone is working so hard and we have been seeing how the Lord prepares people! So many people are going through hard stuff right now, but I promise that if we look to God we can overcome anything!!!

Love y'all! God loves y'all! Stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Bautismo de Cristina ♡

 Hey Y'all

I was transferred and I am now in Palos Verdes with Hermana Payne!!!! I love my companion and I love it here so much! I'm in a boujee area now, it's super clean!!! And we live 10 min from the beach!!!

We had a baptism! Her name is Cristina and she's absolutely amazing. She's so cute. We brought three jumps suits for her to try on to wear for the baptism but they did not fit.  We were like "Oh shoot" because we didn't have anymore and it would take an hour to go back to get another size for her. But luckily the elders had an extra baptismal suit in their car, so we used that. It was super super big on her but it worked! #blessings. The baptism was beautiful and the spirit was so strong!!! Hermana Payne and I sang a song during the service and it was super fun! The place where we had the baptism had an amazing view of the ocean!  While we were there, the sunset happened and I'm soooooo grateful for this beautiful world!!! God has created so many beautiful things and everyday I'm more and more grateful to be able to live here. ¡agradecida!

Love y'all! Stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig <3

Back in LA 6th

Hi Y'all,

I'm back in my first area -- LA 6th!! My companion is Hermana Asay from Utah and she's literally the coolest.  Plus, guesses whatttttt.  One of my roommates is Hermana RamĆrez!!!!!! Otra vez!!!! We are also on bikes and I freakin love it!  Biking on the streets in downtown LA is like mountain biking, because the sidewalks are all broken and you have to dodge all the trees and people. Super funnnn!

We had church!!!! Finally!!! We haven't had church for 7 months.  It was held outside in the church parking lot. Before the service, we got to take everyone's temperatures! We wore all this covid protection stuff and we looked like we were going into surgery or something. It was super cool, too, because we were able to see everyone from my first area. Also our friend, Mario, came!! He is so cute.  He brought his Book of Mormon and everything.

I'm super happy to be back and with an amazing companion and rommie. I've been feeling super blessed lately and I just want to thank everyone for all that you do.  I know that sometimes life can be pretty hard, but just remember to love every moment.  The good and the bad because nothing lasts forever, so enjoy it!!!! Teehee

Love y'all!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Ohhhhh shoot!  Just kidding, I just got news that I'm going to a different area tomorrow, I'll let y'all know next week

Mi cumpleaƱos #20!!!

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday amazing!!! I'm grateful for all y'all and love y'all so much!!! My birthday was so fun!!! I'm so grateful!!! We had an in person lesson with Reina! She bought me a cake, but we couldn't eat it with her because of Corona.  We still can't remove our masks when we visit people.  So we went home and Facetimed her and we ate it with her haha. One of our members, Hermana Lupe, bought me a super nice cake, too.  I was showing my cute roommates and they were like, "Let's take a picture with it!"  As they were taking the picture, Sister Tuna shoved my face into the cake hahaha good times. But, yes, my birthday was amazing and I'm a viejita ahora (an oldie now)

ALSO, general conference was so good!!!! If you haven't seen it, you need to. We had a really good experience with our friend, Ana Maria. She doesn't know how to work technology very well.  So we called her and put conference on and listened to it through the phone with her. She said she only had 10 minutes to listen, but then she ended up listening to the full two hours.  At the end, she was crying.  She said she was so happy and she was crying because of how good God's words are. It was so cute. I LOVE HER.

Love y'all have a wonderful week! And stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Reina! Thumbs up for birthdays.

Dios les bendiga

Holaaaaa

Okok, so these last few weeks have been great. I had a really cool experience with our recent convert Reina. She told us about how she attended some other meeting via Zoom in another ward. So I asked which ward it was and she said, "LA 6th."  I told her how that was my first area, and she asked me if I knew Emely MuƱoz.  I was like, "YES. She was my first baptism in my mission." Then Reina proceeded to tell me that Emely is her niece! I was so shook.  I showed Reina the pictures from the baptism.  While I was sliding through the pics, I noticed I had taken a picture with Reina!!!!! It was so crazy. A year ago, I baptized her niece.  Then a year later, I baptized Reina in a completely different area and had no idea they were related. It was so crazy. Reina wants me to come over when Emely is at her house and we are going to have a little reunion haha.

Another story about Reina.  It was her birthday last week. So we took her some balloons, a stuffed unicorn (she loves stuffed animals), and some cookies.  We got permission to eat with her!!!! She had bought herself a cake and we sang happy birthday to her.  While we were singing, she began to cry and told us how she hasn't eaten cake with anyone since her wedding ... most of her family still lives in Honduras. She is absolutely amazing. She named her stuffed unicorn Weeeenie (she has a hard time saying the "g") after me. Hahahahaha she's so cute. She also helps us out so much with missionary work. She has such a strong testimony and really wants everyone to hear the word of God.

We had some really good lessons with our friend, Ana Maira, she is sososo cute. She calls us everyday to make sure we're doing alright. She wants to be baptized, but we have to figure a few things out before then.  She is amazing!!!!!

Last but not least, we have our friend, Joseph, he's awesome. Literally every time we call him he says the same thing: "Hola buenas noches Dios les bendiga siempre" ("Hello, good night.  God bless you always") jajaja.  It never gets old. He loves to learn about the Gospel. It's so cool to see people change though the love of Christ.

Our roommates are so fun. One is from Fiji and the other is from American Samoa. I love them so much. #grateful

Love you all!!! Have a wonderful week! Stay safe!!!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Staying in Inglewood

Hi Y'all,

It's crazy that this transfer is already over!!! I'm staying in Inglewood!!!! I'm super excited because I love all the people we are teaching here and the members are amazing. Reina is my favorite person, she's so pumped to help us with missionary work! She is such a blessing to this world.  I'm sooooooo grateful to have met her.

Our other friend, Ana Maria, is so cute. She always calls us to check on how we are doing. We had a really good lesson with her this past week.  After, she said that she had had a lot of doubts before the lesson, but now all her doubts are gone. Super cool!

We were able to furnish our apartment with some used couches, which was much needed.

Anyway, all is well!
Love y'all.  Stay safe!

Love,
Hermana Weenig

Thumbs up from Reina following her baptism last week.
