Agradecido (Grateful)

Hi,

Man, oh, man, I don't know where to begin.  To start out the week, it rained!!!  It was so pretty.  The weather is the same everyday, so it's nice when it's different.  On Tuesday, we came out to our car to find a wonderful parking ticket.  For no reason, we received a cute ticket. So now all of our money for groceries is going to pay for the ticket haha.  Anyway, Hermana Wall and I do not have a parking spot.  So we have to street park. If you know anything about LA, you would know there is no parking ever.  Last night we were driving around for 40 minutes and than finally found a parking spot that was 3/4 of a mile from our apartment haha.

On Saturday, we did exchanges. I went with an English speaking sister and we went to her area, a very nice area. However, it also made me very grateful for teaching Latinos and not Americas.  Americans are so rude haha. We had some extra time before our next lesson so we thought we'd stop by this guys house named Kevin.  We knocked on the door and literally all we said was "Is Kevin home?" Then six different people came to the door yelling at us and told us never to come back and said Kevin was in jail and to never say that name again.  They called us freaks and slammed the door in our face. It was awesome!!!! Hope Kevin's doing alright.

We had a ward Thanksgiving dinner! It was so fun, the food was incredible. The ward is so sweet and super nice to us. I love these people so much!!!!!

We are still teaching Juan and he said he wants to get baptized! So we set a date and now we are teaching him the rest of the lessons! He's a great guy and is trying super hard to change his life.

I'm so grateful for all y'all and for the love and the support you guys give me all the time. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Love y'all!!! Stay safe!!!

L.A. Baby

Hi Y'all,

I made it to LA!! It's been a crazy week. When I first got here,  I met my mission president and his wife (President Valeri V. & Glenda Cordon), they are the cutest people. They took us to the mission home and we had a home cooked meal!!!!!  Yes, real food!  It was super good.  The next day, I met my trainer, Hermana Wall.  She is from Virginia. She has spent her last six months in a different area so we are both new to the area and we are both pretty lost. We are white washing this area (which means that missionaries haven't been here for a while).  It's very hard haha, but we chilling. We live in Koreatown! It's pretty cool.

In California, you never know what's south or what's north. Sometimes when we are out running in the mornings, we get lost because we don't know the direction we came from. Haha It's so hard. Also, people say Utah drivers are bad? Well, I'm sorry, but people here are crazy. It's like they've never heard of a stop sign before. haha

We have been teaching a lot! It's been kinda hard to find people to teach though because we are so new to the area, but we have the best ward ever!! They are so so so excited to have hermanas in their ward. We are the first hermanas in this area for a long time.  Everyone is confused when they see sisters instead of elders. We have lessons with ward members all the time,  One lady, Hermana Contreras, is the sweetest. She can talk and talk and talk forever.  I never know what she is saying because she talks so fast  But it's okay, because I never need to respond because she's always talking. haha Love her.

We are teaching this guy named Juan! He really wants to change his life, but can't seem to give up drinking. So we're working on that.   He's a good guy! We are also teaching Jonny, we met him at a park. He also struggles with drinking. We try and teach him, but he's always drunk.  So send prayers for Jonny.

I still haven't gone to In-N-Out, but its gonna happen soon. Today we are getting Korean BBQ, which I'm so excited for!!!

Anyway, life's good! I love these people!! Love you guys!! Stay safe!!!

Love,

Last Week at the MTC

Hi Y'all,

It's been a great week!  We had our final devotional last night and the spirit was so strong.  Elder Booth and I had the opportunity to sing during it.

For p-day, we went one more time to the Mexico City Temple.  So beautiful!

Our Halloween was basic.  We ate candy and painted our nails. :)  Not a lot of Halloween fun at the MTC.

We received our flight plans a few days ago!! Yuhhh  I leave for California on Monday!  I can't wait.  It will be so sad to leave our district, we're like family.  But, we're all super pumped to leave the MTC.  I'm grateful for the friends I have made and for the experiences I have had here.

A short email, but a picture overload.  Thanks!

Love y'all.  Be safe!!!

Love,
