Rain, Rain

Hi,

Okok so I'm back in a trio with Hermana Young and Hermana Yensen. We moved into a trio room, it's pretty small but we're like besties so we just party all the time. The other Hermana's in our apartment are Latinas, they don't speak any English so it's good practice for us.

Hermana Yensen's birthday was yesterday!! For her birthday we jammed out to music (Disney & Christmas) and ate a lot of candy. haha  It was way fun.

It rained all this last week and when it rains it pours, with thunder and lightning every few minutes. It's super pretty.

On Sunday in sacrament meeting, I gave the closing prayer in Spanish.  Scary, but super exciting.

We switch companions on Tuesday and Saturday every week with Latinas. It's super fun, but exhausting. The Latinas speak so fast haha.  I have the same companion every week. Her name is Hermana Crisostomno. She's the cutest. She always gives me these interesting Mexican candies. Haha She's the best.

One more full week here!! Then, I'm outta here!!! I'm getting super excited to leave, but I will miss my district a lot. Love them.

On Monday, I tried out to sing in a devotional for this next week with Elder Booth, we got in. We have to sing half the song in Spanish, I'm super excited. Elder Turner is playing the piano for us.

Anyway, all is good.

Yesterday, we switched companions with Latinas for the day. They did not speak any English. It was way fun.  It was hard to communicate with them because all I know are church words in Spanish, but it was so fun. My Latina companion's name was Hermana Crisostomno. She is so cute. I didn't get a picture with her, but I will next week. 

So Hermana Young went back with her old companion.  Now it's Hermana Yensen and I as a companionship. I freakin love Hermana Yensen, She's the best. We have an Australian roommate (Hermana Richard) and we make up raps to sing to her at night.  She says we are bad, but deep down we know she loves it. I'm also trying to master my Australian accent here. Hermana Richard's has been teaching me. I'm getting it down. 

I guess our district is ahead of everyone.  We memorized everything super fast and now we're just memorizing vocabulary. It's nice, but I'm like why did we make the first 3 weeks so stressful hahah.  It's still stressful, but more relaxed.

I'm half way done with my MTC experience!!! I'm so ready to go to California!!! Elder Loreward from our district and I leave the same day for California.  The first thing we are going to do is get some American fast food  -- I'm ready for some In-N-Out!!!

Temple Trip

HEY Y'ALL

So this week has been good!   Spanish, Spanish and more Spanish.  Today, we were able to go to the Mexico City temple.  It is so beautiful!  It was nice to leave the MTC for a while. My district is the best, we're getting super close.

Nothing super exciting happened this last week. Other than, one day I was telling my companions a story as we were walking outside and a parrot flew over me and dropped a "treat" on me -- that was fun! :(  Spanish is coming along, we've been giving lessons in Spanish which is awesome.

 

The spirit is so strong in the MTC, but the rules here are crazy strict. The other day we were taking group pictures and I got in trouble for standing by the elders in my district.  So we had to retake the pics hahaha. 

 

Hmmmmm the food is ..... good? It's not terrible, I'm grateful for it. The best is on Tuesdays -- we get Costco pizza.  

 

The gospel is true.

A New Language

This week was way fun, but very stressful.  Learning a new language is super hard, but its crazy how much I've already learned. I love my district, they're the best! We have a volleyball game later today and I'm pumped to destroy the elders. Hehe 

The hermana that speaks French is now in a French class because it was too hard for her to learn Spanish from a language she didn't understand. :(  So now we have a trio companionship:  Hermana Young, Hermana Yensen and I.  They're crazy smart and super cool.  My roommates are so freaking fun.  We have six hermanas per apartment and each companionship has their own room.  We all get along so well.  So it's a party every time we come back from class.

It's so pretty here, I love it, but it can get pretty cold. It will randomly just start to rain, but its dope.  Also, I'm so use to using my iPhone back at home and I have a Samsung phone for my mission it's kinda sad how bad I am at using it. hahahah.

First Week at CCM (Centro de Capacitacion Misional) Mexico

Hey y'all,

Everything's going good over here in Mexico City. For the first 2 days, I didn't have a companion. It was a big struggle. She was coming all the way from Haiti and she only speaks French. So after a day, they had me switch companions and had her go with with a hermana that speaks French and Spanish. My new companion is Hermana Yensen. She's super nice and we get along really well. She's from Oregon. My district is way fun. We have a good time. Spanish is freaking hard haha we study all freaking day. We had to memorize the first vision in Spanish by yesterday. So I've got that down, but now I've got a thousand more things to memorize haha but it's good I'm learning so much. The food isn't too bad.  Anyway, love y'all so much. Be safe!!!!!!!!
